In the intimacy of her work and her daily life
Drawing on the diversity of the Château's archive and the recent research that has been done there, the Château de Rosa Bonheur, in co-production with the department of Seine-et-Marne, offers an incursion into the intimacy of Rosa Bonheur. The “Rosa Bonheur intime” exhibition is divided into two parts: the first is devoted to the artist's work while the second explores different facets of her personality.
For the first time, you will discover Rosa Bonheur's photographic laboratory. This small room hidden away in the back of her studio is certainly one of the three oldest photographic laboratories in the world still intact. Through the exploration of this universe, the Château will share the fruit of its latest research concerning the role of photography in the life and work of Rosa Bonheur.
Then you will discover the intimacy of her work. By comparison between the completed canvas and the preparatory studies, we will dissect both its creative process and the techniques and supports used. A way to explain how Rosa Bonheur develops her projects, and to reveal the specificities of her art.
The second part of the exhibition is an immersion in Rosa's intimacy: her relationships, her fights, her passions… an overview of what defines the great Rosa Bonheur. A stroll through 7 thematic spaces that will end in the park.
